How “Mind Muscle Connection” Can Get You the Body of Your DREAMS
The Benefits of Mind-Muscle Connection
What is mind-muscle connection?
Mind-muscle connection is the brain’s physical ability to fire specific pathways causing a muscle to contract. Studies have shown that strength gains from resistance training (just like the resistance training we do here at Studio Physique) can be attributed to improving the mind’s ability to strengthen these pathways.
Why is mind-muscle connection so important?
Once you realize that you can contract certain muscles during an exercise, your workout is taken to the next level. Body awareness makes it possible to squeeze your core during certain moves so that your abs become more defined. You begin to isolate your glute muscles to shape and tone your legs. You start to visualize squeezing your shoulders while working out your arms in order to create a long, lean frame in your tank tops.
If you’re new to Lagree Fitness, or new to working out in general I’ll give you an example.
When we sink into a lunge there are tons of muscles working. Our quad contracts to lower us. Our calf stabilizes us. Our glutes fire at the bottom so that we can rise out of the lunge and our core activates to help us balance. By utilizing “mind-muscle connection” we can LITERALLY use mind control to activate whichever part of our body we want to incorporate the most.
If you’re a Lagree Pro then you’re familiar with using your heel to dig into the ground in order to lower and raise your body through a lunge. By thinking about squeezing your glute muscles you can isolate your booty. This in turn leads to more time under tension. AKA a more lifted, perkier backside! Win win!
Utilizing the exclusive Megaformer at Studio Physique leads to a deeper level of mind-muscle connection. Deeper and more effective than you can find anywhere else! With just a little bit of Lagree Fitness practice, we are able to engage and activate any muscle we choose with precision.
