Pilates is a form of exercise comprised of a specific sequence of movements focused on proper breathing patterns and alignment of the body. It is designed to improve overall tone, posture, flexibility and strengthen core muscles using different kinds of adjustable spring resistance equipment or your own body weight during mat work. The core muscles include the deep abdominals, pelvic floor, flexors of the hip and back musculature.
